Kazunori Koide
He obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Tokyo (Professor Masaji Ohno’s group). He then obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of California, San Diego (Professor K. C. Nicolaou’s group). He conducted post-doctoral research in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University (Professor Gregory Verdine’s group). He has been a faculty member at Pitt since 2000. He ran the Pittsburgh marathon (26.2 miles) three times and is trying to do the fourth (he’s been saying this for years).
